What is Arboriculture?

Arboriculture is the cultivation, management, and study of individual trees, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants.

The science of arboriculture studies how these plants grow and respond to cultural practices and to their environment.
 

What is the purpose of Arboriculture?

Arboriculture includes propagating, transplanting, pruning, applying fertilizer, spraying to control insects and diseases, cabling and bracing, treating cavities, identifying plants, diagnosing and treating tree damage and ailments, arranging plantings for their ornamental values, and removing trees

Why is Arboriculture so important?

It is a very unique and necessary industry that helps to maintain the health and wellness of our natural environment.

Arborists, as they are known, have the important job of ensuring the health of trees and assess any potential risk they may pose to people and property.
