Nick Hayes from the ArbWest Committee recently caught up with Tim Stuart from Coastline Mowers to present him with a certificate of appreciation from ArbWest, recognising his significant contribution to the association and the 2025 WA State Tree Climbing Championships.

The WA State Tree Climbing Championships were held on the 3rd and 4th of October at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre, with Coastline Mowers proudly supporting the Masters Event — the grand finale of the competition featuring five challenging climbing elements.
Tim Stuart has become a dedicated supporter of the arboriculture industry. From supplying training gear to becoming fully involved in arborist events, Tim’s journey reflects a true commitment to the climbing community. Coastline Mowers is now an ArbWest Silver Corporate Partner.
We caught up with Tim earlier to learn more about how Coastline Mowers’ partnership with the industry began.
How did Coastline Mowers first get involved with the arboriculture industry?
“It all started at the end of 2021, when we partnered with Interlink — now RelyOn Australia,” Tim said. “We supplied them with STIHL equipment for training both new and experienced arborists. That partnership sparked our interest in growing further into the arboriculture space.”

What helped you make deeper connections in the industry?
“Steve Hayes at Interlink introduced me to a few key people — including someone from ArbWest and the GM of a major arborist company. Those conversations really opened doors.”
Coastline Mowers changed ownership in 2025 — did that impact your direction?
“Definitely,” Tim said. “When the new owner came on board in March 2025, we looked at how to grow the business. We kept getting requests for climbing and rigging gear, so I started exploring that space. Thanks to old industry contacts, we soon began stocking a full range of arborist gear.”

How did that lead to your involvement with ArbWest and the State Climbing Championships?
“We started sponsoring ArbWest and attending their meetings and AGMs. I could see they were moving in a great direction for the industry. Now in our second year of sponsorship, the chance came up to support the WA State Tree Climbing Championships — it was an easy yes. It’s our way of giving back to the industry that’s helped us grow.”
